Eagle's Nest and Berchtesgaden Day Tour from Munich
About This Tour
Embark on a full-day coach trip from Munich to the Berchtesgaden Mountains, home to Hitler’s mountain retreat and the former southern headquarters of the Nazi Party.
Visit Eagle’s Nest(Kehlsteinhaus),a mountaintop lodge built by the Nazis as a gift for Hitler. Perched dramatically at 6,148 feet(1,834 meters)on Mt. Kehlstein, this historic site offers some of the most breathtaking views of the Alps in all of Germany. Ironically, Hitler rarely visited the lodge, as he suffered from vertigo and was uncomfortable with heights.
Eagle’s Nest is only open from May through the end of October, depending on weather conditions.
